Measure a ring you already own
- Choose a ring that fits the same finger on the same hand.
- Lay it flat and measure straight across the centre of the opening, from inside edge to inside edge. Do not include the metal.
- Compare the measurement in millimetres with the table above.
If you do not have a ring to measure, use a ring sizer or ask a jeweller to measure your finger. For an open or irregular ring, use a ring sizer rather than a ruler.

- Wrap a narrow strip of paper around the base of the finger you will wear the ring on, without pulling tight.
- Mark where the ends meet. Lay the strip flat and measure the length in millimetres.
- Compare that circumference with the table. Make sure the ring can pass over your knuckle.
Measure at the end of the day and repeat the measurement. If you are unsure, use a ring sizer or ask a jeweller to measure your finger.
